The Eric Nicolin Applen Fund was formed to try and give a "smile" back to a child or a family who is fighting every day to beat cancer.  We know that many of you have been touched by cancer.

While there are several institutions that help with large expenses (airline rewards, overnight stays, etc.) there is no real help for the small expenses that grow quickly and add more stress to an already stress filled situation.

The funds raised by our Golf Tournament go directly to help families.  There are no administration expenses - all funds are directed to those in need.


Fund Distribution:

*  Children and their families who are currently battling cancer.

*  University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit via The Fairview Foundation:
     - Help families with daily expenses such as parking permits, gas cards, hospital
       cafeteria coupons.
     - Major expense to fund the dying wish of a cancer patient.
     - Fun things such as gift certificates for Itunes, Ipods or Video Games
     - Shopping outing for a cancer child at their favorite mall or store for something that just makes them feel good.



The list is endless and it gives that one shot of relief for just a moment - enough time to take a break from the daily battle with cancer.
